Raw Material Purchaser - Manufacturing / Metal Fabrication

Overview

Republic DFW is seeking a detail-oriented Raw Material Purchaser to support manufacturing and fabrication operations. This role focuses on sourcing, quoting, comparing, purchasing, and tracking raw materials used in production. The ideal candidate understands manufacturing urgency, supplier communication, material availability, documentation, and cost-conscious purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for raw materials and manufacturing needs.
• Request, compare, and analyze supplier quotes to ensure best value and timely availability.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and delivery schedules with vendors.
• Place purchase orders and monitor order status through delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, supplier performance, and material availability.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and inventory teams to support manufacturing schedules.
• Resolve issues related to quality, delivery, missing materials, incorrect orders, or pricing.

Requirements

• Purchasing, procurement, buyer, inventory, or supply chain experience required or strongly preferred.
• Manufacturing, industrial, metal fabrication, CNC, or shop environment experience preferred.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organization skills.
• Ability to compare quotes, track details, and manage multiple priorities.
• Microsoft Office experience, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with vendors and shop teams.
